Excellent piece, a very poignant critique in fact, as I see it; this could easily be taken as a criticism of modern consumerist society, packaging emotions and nostalgia into wrappers and cartridges, recreating the natural world in some twisted modern synthesis.. No thank you!
The idea is really interesting, you've taken a very common (and rather pop-culture) symbol, the banana, and used it to communicate this sick materialization.. I love the obvious contrast of the 'real' banana in the monkey's mind and the little banana-bar he is holding. Also, the space suit he's in is a subtle reference to the future, as if to say "This is our future". Also, the suit itself could be s ymbol of some inhibiting factor in modern society; first it creates this fake banana, and then provides us with the means necessary to not be able to eat it anyway! I think in that sense, and in relation to the sad expression of the monkey inside, the suit might represent apathy and depression, caused by this industrialization.

I simply love this piece, it has such a poignant simplicity. This would make one sweet Print!
