Twinkie
10" x 8" Acrylic + Ink 2006 I created this painting for a group show entitled "Beast from the East", hosted by Project: [link] Featuring asian american artist, I chose to take the opportunity to exploit my ethnicity in most of the paintings I contributed I'm sure some of you are now asking 'So what does a Twinkie have to do with being asian?' Twinkie is a humorous way of saying that an asian person is a "Race Traitor", ie. yellow on the outside, white on the inside. (Banana is another one.) Though this painting really has nothing to do with being asian american, I guess it's really nothing more than a Luke Chueh spin on one of Hostess' most famous snack foods. Cheers! |
